Janos Logo is full professor of Structural Mechanics at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. He holds a secondary full professor appointment in the Department of Highway and Railway Engineering at the same university.

He received his university diplomas (structural engineering in 1985 and engineering mathematics in 1988), and PhD degree from Budapest University of Technology and Economics where he habilitated in 2006. He also received additional doctoral degrees (CSc, DSc) from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

Research interests of Janos Logo include structural optimization, topology optimization, additive manufacturing, structural dynamics, plasticity, and computational mechanics. These fields are extended to probabilistic cases, as well.

Janos Logo is currently serving as vice-president for Central European Association for Computational Mechanics (CEACM). He is founder member of the International Society for Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization. He is editor of Periodica Polytechnica Civil Engineering, and is on the editorial board of the journals Computers and Structures, Advances in Engineering Software, Structural and Multidisciplinary Optimization, Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines, Optimization in Civil Engineering and Pollack Periodica.
